Coding Instructor – Youth Programs (Beginner 1)

Part-Time Contract Role (Seasonal), with potential for additional hours based on program needs

 

Company Overview

Connectech Coding is Bermuda’s first technology training center, delivering beginner-friendly coding programs to children through public schools, camps, and community partners. Our youth programs focus on creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning, helping students build confidence with technology in a supportive classroom environment.

Responsibilities Include

  • Teaching Scratch coding to students ages 7–14 using provided curriculum
  • Leading one-hour, in-person classes for groups of 12–20 students
  • Managing a structured and supportive classroom environment
  • Traveling between assigned school locations during the week
  • Providing student feedback and supporting program activities
  • Collaborating with instructors to ensure consistency and coverage
  • High performers may be considered for future expanded roles
 

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Comfort working with children in a classroom or group setting
  • Ability to manage a class and communicate clearly
  • Working knowledge of Scratch and basic coding concepts
  • Strong reliability, time management, and professionalism
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience teaching, coaching, or supervising children or youth
  • Coursework, certification, or degree in Computer Science, Education, or a related field
  • Familiarity with JavaScript or Python is helpful but not required
