Coding Instructor – Youth Programs (Beginner 1)
Part-Time Contract Role (Seasonal), with potential for additional hours based on program needs
Company Overview
Connectech Coding is Bermuda’s first technology training center, delivering beginner-friendly coding programs to children through public schools, camps, and community partners. Our youth programs focus on creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning, helping students build confidence with technology in a supportive classroom environment.
Responsibilities Include
- Teaching Scratch coding to students ages 7–14 using provided curriculum
- Leading one-hour, in-person classes for groups of 12–20 students
- Managing a structured and supportive classroom environment
- Traveling between assigned school locations during the week
- Providing student feedback and supporting program activities
- Collaborating with instructors to ensure consistency and coverage
- High performers may be considered for future expanded roles
Required Skills and Abilities
- Comfort working with children in a classroom or group setting
- Ability to manage a class and communicate clearly
- Working knowledge of Scratch and basic coding concepts
- Strong reliability, time management, and professionalism
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience teaching, coaching, or supervising children or youth
- Coursework, certification, or degree in Computer Science, Education, or a related field
- Familiarity with JavaScript or Python is helpful but not required
