Connectech Coding welcomed 240 students from 14 public schools for a Tech Education Day, featuring hands-on sessions and expert panels to inspire Bermuda’s youth in technology and innovation.
A spokesperson said, “Connectech Coding welcomed 240 students from 14 public schools across Bermuda to its Tech Education Day on November 22, 2024. The event, aimed at fostering interest in technology and innovation, catered to students from primary to high school levels with a variety of engaging and tech education activities.
“Primary and middle school students participated in hands-on micro-lessons covering App Development, Coding, 3D Printing, and Robotics. These interactive sessions allowed younger students to explore key concepts in technology while developing practical skills in a fun and supportive environment.
“High school students engaged in an insightful panel discussion focused on the wide-ranging career opportunities within Computer Science and Creative Technologies. The panel featured a diverse group of 12 local experts, from entry-level professionals to C-suite executives, who shared their experiences, expertise, and career journeys.”
Sloane Johnson, Interim Executive Director of Connectech Coding, expressed her enthusiasm about the event’s impact: “Tech Education Day exemplifies Connectech’s mission to inspire and equip Bermuda’s youth with the tools they need to thrive in a technology-driven future. SUPPORT TEAM BERMUDA as we participate in the FIRST Global Challenge which is an olympics-style, international robotics competition that takes place in a different country each year. FIRST Global invites each nation to send a team to build and program a robot to compete.
